In every industry, there are always rumours and news that will not see the light of day and the Nigerian music industry is not an exception. Today, we will be looking at 5 rumoured music deals that never came to fruition.

Olamide to DB Records: 3 years ago, Olamide and D’banj were having a sweet romance with both artistes featuring each other in their albums and this led to the rumour that d’banj had signed Baddo, but this deal didn’t see the light of day.

Davido to DB Records: Fresh from his breakup with erstwhile partner Don Jazzy, D’banj was setting up his db records and Davido’s name popped up as one of the artistes the label with be floating, but the official announcement never came.

May-D to HKN Music: Even though Davido has known him since his unilag days and was rumoured to have played a huge part in his split with Square records, the news that May-D was set to become a HKN Gang member slowly disappeared into thin air.

2 Face to Konvict Muzik: Akon made an announcement on twitter that he was about to take over the world with his brothers @2faceidibia and @wizkidayo and many assumed that it was an official signing, however 2Face’s media team came out to clear the air.

Faze to Konvict Muzik: Although Akon initially denied, he later issued a video release identifying with ‘Faze my home boy’ and assuring fans of a working relationship. The Konvict/Faze deal has, however, yet to see the light of day
