Women Will Soon Be Allowed To Marry Two Men In Kenya!!!
A mother of twins and widow, Joyce Wambui, had a dual affair with Sylvester Mwendwa and Elijah Kimani for four years.
When the men found out she had been double-dating, Wambui refused to leave either of them. This led to a heated argument between the trio. However, they ended up agreeing on a polyandrous tie.
Abdhallah Abdulrahman, the local policeman, helped them to make peace.
Wambui who is in her late twenties persuaded both men to sign a polyandrous marriage contract with her. Polyandry is a form of polygamy whereby a woman takes two or more husbands at the same time.
NTV, a Kenyan station, published an excerpt of the contract which states: “We have agreed that from today we will not threaten or have jealous feelings because of our wife who says she’s not ready to let go of any of us. Each one will respect the day set aside for him. We agree to love each other and live peacefully. No one has forced us to make this agreement.”Mdendwa thinks the only logical conclusion for the trio is the polyandrous marriage as he told the BBC.
“It could have been very dangerous if the other man would have come to her house and caught me,” he said. “So our agreement is good as it sets boundaries and helps us keep peace. She is like the central referee. She can say whether she wants me or my colleague.”
